After the second lockdown, Chinatown has reopened! We’ve done our best, and keeping 1,5 meters distance in mind, we can enjoy the summer of 2021 like any other!
Here, on the left, you can see how Chinatown emerged from the first lockdown. Now, after a second one, we are all ready for dim sum and bubble tea. Plus, it’s great that we can cut our hair again!

Den Haag FM besteedt aandacht aan de leukste plekken in Chinatown Den Haag
In Chinatown Den Haag bruist het van de Aziatische restaurants, toko’s, speciaalzaken en winkels. Maar welke zijn nou de leukste? Fraaie zitbanken in Chinatown
Onlangs zijn zes fraai beschilderde zitbanken in de Gedempte Burgwal, Chinatown Den Haag, geplaatst. Dit in het kader van de herinrichting Gedempte Burgwal en Gedempte Gracht door de gemeente. Elke bank vertegenwoordigt een land, zo zijn er onder andere zitbanken van Egypte, Zwitserland, Vietnam, China en Korea. De zitbanken zijn beschilderd door de Chinese, Haagse kunstenaar Zhou Le Shen.In totaal komen er 24 beschilderde zitbanken in Chinatown Den Haag.


Het Chinees Maanfeest is een traditie in Chinatown Den Haag
Afgelopen zaterdag 30 september vond de viering van het Chinees Maanfeest plaats op het Rabbijn Maarsenplein in Chinatown Den Haag. Het Chinees Maanfeest in Chinatown Den Haag is inmiddels een traditie geworden. Net als vorig jaar vond dit festival voor jong en oud weer plaats op het Rabbijn Maarsenplein. Er kwamen tal van leuke en verschillende activiteiten aan bod: muziek-, zang- en dansoptredens van Chinese artiesten uit China en Den Haag, workshops Chinese kalligrafie en Chinese maankoeken proeven, Asian streetfood, DJ met Aziatische muziek, kinderactiviteiten en dergelijke. Het Chinees Maanfeest werd geopend door wethouder Arjen Kapteijns van de gemeente Den Haag.

Chinatown The Hague is known for its Chinese street furniture and decorations. The two beautiful, detailed Chinese gateways are true eyecatchers. Did you know they are the first Chinese gateways on European soil? Street signs are in Dutch and Chinese, you will find Chinese proverbs in the pavements, and red Chinese lanterns will light the streets at night.
